The Vartsala cable ferry will be converted to an environmentally friendly hybrid cable ferry. During the conversion work, a reserve ferry will operate on the route with a capacity of 90 t.

The conversion work will take an estimated four months and the updated cable ferry will return to traffic on the Vartsala route in the spring of 2024.

• Maximum weight for vehicle combination 4,5 t
• Maximum axle weight 3,0 t
• Maximum boggie weight 3,0 t

• Speed limit on the ice road is 30 km/h
